Feature: RSHS embraces E-Learning

By Jibs Lidasan, Robotics teacher, ARMM Regional Science High School (RSHS)

A dream.... now a reality.

The world of 21st century known as globalization era is marked by rapid and complex change that unavoidably affect education. It is in this context that our school realized that students these days are different from how they were before the age of computers. Today we call them "digital natives".

Part of the realization of ARMM Regional Science High School is the introduction of E-learning in the teaching-learning process. Teachers have to catch up with the students' short attention spans and they have to compete with the entertainment value student get from computer games and internet.

E-learning allows the teachers to manage lesson delivery in a structural and customizable way, inside and outside the classroom. The ARMM Regional Science High School led by its School head, Dr. Myrna Buhay lidasan, Al-Hadja, tried to cope with the changing time by providing the school with the latest gadgets such as; E-library, mini science, computer and robotics laboratories with active board (touch screen) with latest LCD projector.

CCTV and 32" LED TV recently installed in every classroom at RSHS

Recently, all classrooms were installed 32" LED TV with audio visual components and can be monitored by the School head on CCTV installed in every classroom.

This school year, the RSHS introduced Robotics, integrated to Applied Physics, Mathematics, and Information and communication technology.

With all these development, and with the able support of our DepEd officials and some stakeholders we are hopeful that we could be at far with other regions . As the only public science high school in the ARMM, we do our best to make a difference.
