ARMM prepares for Palarong Pambansa 2013

After the successful Palarong ARMMAA in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, in January 2013; all roads now lead to Palarong Pambansa 2013 scheduled on April 21 to 27, in Negros Oriental.

RS Atty Jamar Kulayan has ordered BPESS Director Dr Taya Aplal to lead in the regional preparation. The Regional Secretary said that the preparation is more than an issue of adequate funding, as it is more of being proactive mindset, collaborative action and efficient use of resources. Supporting the BPESS Director in the regional preparation is the ARMM Regional Sports Coordinating Office (RSCO) Executive Director Al-Trekee Dayan. A meeting of the regional oversight and technical committees have been undertaken.

RG Mujiv Hataman is an eager supporter of youth and sports development. In recognition of the importance of sports in youth development, the administration of RG Mujiv Hataman for the second consecutive year have increased the funding assistance to the schools divisions participating in the Regional Meet. (More on this additional financial support, please click here ... ) The similar support will be extended for the ARMM delegation to the Palarong Pambansa 2013.

In hosting the 2013 Palarong Pambansa, Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo boasts about the province's state-of-the-art sports facilities, playing venues within a 10-km radius; safe, clean, and secure billeting quarters; uninterrupted electric power; pure, and potable water from an ISO certified water district; competent medical facilities and medical teams; excellent peace and order situation plus capable police enforcers; efficient transportation system; city-wide 4G wireless communication
Stress-relieving tourist destinations and the warmth and wonder the people.

Speaking about the value of this annual event, SDS Salustiano of Negros Oriental said, "We believe that sports carry a great value in our lives. Sports develop the skills necessary for life’s pursuits. Through sports, we develop teamwork, leadership, decision making, and other life skills. It makes us become a family with others, persevere through long hours of practice, deal with the pain of losing, and celebrate victory with humility."


This year's Palarong Pambansa's theme is "Sports: Road to Peace and Progress".

Two sports will debut in the upcoming national games - wushu and futsal.
