DepEd's Regional Information Officers (RIOs) from across the country are trooping to The Manila Times College in Intramuros Manila to attend the two-week full-time course on "Effective Communication Course for Information Officers".
Seventeen delegates were sent from their official station for this course from January 15-30, 2013. DepEd-ARMM is represented by Mubarak Pandi, Chief of Staff, Office of the Assistant Regional Secretary for Programs.
This 2-week course aims to assist Information Officers in government agencies write publishable news and feature stories, set up press conferences, deal effectively with media, and create public image for the Department.
RIOs will learn and master their skills in English grammar, gathering newsworthy stories, conducting interviews, writing news stories, feature articles, proofreading, copy editing, maintaining good public relations, and enhancing the public image of the department.
Having been recommended by their Regional Secretary/Director the seventeen (17) participants will be designated as Regional Information Officer for at least 3 years working closely and in partnership with the Communication Unit at the Central Office.
