2018 ARMMAA Palaro kicks-off today.

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Athletic Association (ARMMAA) Palarong was officially opened this morning. It was graced by the new DepED-ARMM Secretary, Atty. Rasol Y. Mitmug, Jr.

In his message goes this way :

It is an honor to welcome all the guests and participants of 2018 Palarong ARMMAA in North Upi, Maguindanao.

The theme for this year’s Palarong ARMAA “Transformed and Productive ARMMIANs” focuses on the active development and transformation of our young athletes. They gather here not only to display their physical abilities but also to show us that through sports there can be peace and common aspiration for our ARMM youth.

ARMMAA is a perfect space for our athletes to be united. It provides a common experience for our youth. Through sports they learn a common set of rules, fair play, success and even rising from down falls.

To all participants of the 2018 Palarong ARMMAA, I wish you all the best in the upcoming games. May you find friends and allies among your fellow athletes. May you build relations that will outlast this event. Look not only at the gold but at the friendship built during this few days where everyone values sportsmanship and a good game. May this experience guide you thru your journey in becoming not only a good student, a better athlete but later on a productive citizen of this country and a proud Bangsamoro. May our teachers, coaches, and officials in ARMM continue to provide us with a conducive environment for self development.

Allow me this opportunity to thank you the athletes and the officials of the ARMMAA as well as the LGU of North Upi and its constituents for hosting this ARMMAA; to the DepEd Officials, Division Heads and Teachers and the Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman for their support in this year’s ARMMAA.

Mabuhay kayong lahat!

Regional Secretary
