The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education – Technical Education and Skills Development (MBHTE-TESD) will provide free skills training to Bangsamoro Overseas Workers (BOWs) returnees following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the MBHTE and the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE).
Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal and Labor Minister Romeo Sema signed the MOA on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Cotabato City.
Under the said agreement, the overseas workers, who qualified in the MOLE’s “๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ข: ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐ช๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐ฝ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐ค๐ง๐ค ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐จ๐๐๐จ ๐๐ค๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐จ” will be required to undergo skills and training in the MBHTE’s Manpower Development Centers in the region.
Aside from the livelihood assistance amounting to P20,000.00, MOLE’s reintegration program also aims to provide returning BOWs, who have no intention to return abroad, opportunities to be trained and oriented with basic entrepreneurial skills to start their own businesses.
