DepEd-ARMM magnify the Universal Children's Day Celebration in ARMM

Children’s’ Day is recognized on various days in many places around the world. It celebrates children globally through Universal Children’s Day which will take place annually on 20 of November. This year’s theme is:”Quality Education to Stop Violence Against Children.

Universal Children’s Day offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children’s rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for Children.

Department of Education – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, through the leadership of the Regional Secretary Dr. John A. Magno in cooperation with the Regional Human Rights Commission (RHRC) spearheaded the inaugural celebration of the Universal Children’s Day in ARMM held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Sharif Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, ORG Compound, Cotabato City.   

                       



In line with the UCD Celebration, DepEd-ARMM through the headship of  Chief Legal Officer Atty. Mojahid Guro, initiated the #iforeducation program which was launched on 19 November at Basilan Training Hall, RELC Bldg. #iforeducation is both a project and advocacy that seeks to promote the responsible, productive and informative use of internet and digital technology for education purposes.

                                       

With the presence and favorable service of celebrity actor-singer Mr. Ronnie Liang facilitated the psycho-social intervention with the bangsamoro children.
            
              


The success of Children’s Day celebration in ARMM is not just a day to celebrate children for who they are, but to bring awareness to children in ARMM and around the globe to have succumbed to violence in forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination.
