Formal turn-over of BEAM-ARMM garment tools and equipment to Sapakan NHS. |
Sapakan, Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao (March 18) - The local community and stakeholders of Sapakan National High School (NHS) convene today for the formal turn-over of garment tools and equipment from the AusAID-funded BEAM-ARMM Program.
Sapakan NHS principal Hadja Elma L. Maliga acknowledged the presence and support of PTA officials led by its president the incumbent Vice Mayor Datu Jonathan P. Lumenda; community leaders and elders led by ABC president Datu Yacob Ampatuan; Secondary Teachers Association of Maguindanao I Division president Mr. Mando P. Gumaga, and Maguindanao I Division- EPS Baitaya Lumambas and Anie Manabilang.
In the turnover, DepED-ARMM Regional Office was represented by OIC-BSE Dr. Fatima B. Abubakar and Tech Voc/SHS Coordinator Ma. Corazon G. Maguate, while BEAM-ARMM was represented by TVET Component Manager Peter Bellen, Fahad Romancap and Sherwin Desierto.
Aside from the garment course, Sapakan NHS is also offering food processing technology and ICT courses.
The school sits on a 16-hectare reservation area which makes it a promising skill center for excellence in this part of Maguindanao. Sapakan NHS is the 4th among high schools to receive tools and equipment package from BEAM-ARMM.
According to TVET component manager Peter Bellen, the package includes twenty-five (25) units of Singer 15E complete with straight table, Z-type stand and household motor and five (5) units of button holer, singer 4423 heavy duty portable with 2 step buttonhole.
School head Hadja Elma L. Maliga promised, "pagyayamanin namin ang donation na ito, aalagaan namin upang mraming mga estudyante pa ang matututo at makagamit nito". (Fatima Abubakar/BSE)
