The result of the NAT analysis done by the regional team was alarming. As Mr ACe Iya had posted week ago, only three schools in the entire region has reached mastery level. The post is alarming to everybody whose passion and dreams goes for quality advancement of our children.
The post becomes a calling. If we want to see our people living a quality life, then we must plant the seed of tomorrow's good luck and nurture that seed so that we can harvest it for the days to come. We must prepare our tomorrow by engaging ourselves in today's success.
As an answer to that call we must embrace our teachers and empower them by making them see and realize the importance and the beauty of being a teacher. Teachers are advocates and can be likened to the work of Tableegh (Missionary work). Teachers must take pride in who they are because we build a society of peace, harmony and prosperity.
As I have been saying, for me teaching is not only a profession, but it is a mission I must complete. A mission to touch the lives of our students and of my co-educators. And I can only say that my mission is complete if I have influenced others to respond to that call.
For some, they became teachers because they just want to be a teacher. For me, I choose to be a teacher because of this mission. If we choose to have a good life, then children inside the four corners of the classrooms should evolve as the change we seek in this world and for the future.
