BaSulTa divisions train to deliver Teacher Orientation Program (TOP)

Zamboanga City – Division training teams from the divisions of Basilan, Lamitan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi commence their 3-day trainers’ training program (TOT) at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City. 

In his welcome message, BAFOSS director Dr Somerado Pandapatan said, "the primary objective of the TOT is to prepare the division training teams to manage the Teacher Orientation Program (TOP)." The division training team is composed of human resources management officer (HRMO), two (2) education program supervisors (EPS) and two (2) school nurses.

Regional Secretary Atty Jamar M. Kulayan stressed the importance of this training in terms of providing correct and up-to-date information to newly-recruited teachers on CSC, DepEd, GSIS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR and PPSTA; teachers are empowered to promote and protect their welfare. Aside from these topics, new teachers will also be oriented on the K to 12 curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
