Transparency with MOOE - Tawi-Tawi division, districts and NHSs

MOOE stands for "Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses". In DepEd-ARMM, regional and division offices, districts and national high schools get monthly MOOE allocation.

In the NGAS Manual for National Government Agencies (Volume III - The Chart of Accounts), MOOE is defined as "accounts include expenses necessary for the regular operations of an agency like, among others, traveling expenses, training and seminar expenses, water, electricity, supplies expense, maintenance of property, plant and equipment, and other maintenance and operating expenses."

The call for transparency and accountability will be futile without making public how much MOOE are allocated and how they are expended. Responding to public clamor and clamor from regular DepEd-ARMM personnel for transparency about MOOE, the Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman and Regional Secretary Atty Jamar Kulayan have authorized the publication of MOOE that the divisions, districts and high schools received.

Here's the MOOE allocation for Tawi-Tawi division, districts and NHS. The figure is as of January 2012.
