BME and DepEd CO orient heads on the ALIVE program implementation

As a consequent to the on-going partnership between DepEd-ARMM and DepEd Central on the Madrasah Education Program and in preparation for the deployment of additional 2,200 contractual asatidz to teach Arabic and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) in the public schools, a series of program orientations has been scheduled.

This closer partnership between DepEd-ARMM and DepEd CO is one of the initiatives of the Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman to catalyze education reform in general and to deeped quality of education that is relevant and sensitive to the peculiar socio-cultural ebvironment of ARMM.

June 8-11 for Lanao Sur cluster in Cagayan de Oro, June 13-16  for Maguindanao cluster at Davao City and Basulta divisions scheduled for July. The invited participants are division, district and school heads implementing the ALIVE program.

The orientation will disseminate the standards in organizing, managing, monitoring and evaluating ALIVE Program implementation. There will also be opportunity for experiential sharing as selected regional ALIVE coordinators, district/school heads of ALIVE implementing schools and ALIVE teachers from Regions IX, X, XI and XII have been invited.

Usec Alzad Sattar challenged the participants on two fronts: After 6 yrs from now to produce graduates from the ALIVE program. It is understood that for the past 22 years of ALIVE program's existence, there was not a single graduate. He challenged them for quality education, through quality teaching and reiterated that the BME's vision is to "produce new generation with a new mindset equipped with Islamic and secular education, where Islamic values like "fear of Allah" (Taqwallah) are deep-rooted and inclucated in their hearts and their minds."

From the Lanao cluster orientation, participants expressed satisfaction with new implementation guide, pledge to support the ALIVE program and other BME's activities as they were motivated by the sincerity and adamant of the ARMM present administration in reforming ARMM.
